The power of imagination created the illusion that my vision went much farther than the naked eye could actually see.

We place our vision of a new constitutional order for South Africa on the table not as conquerors, prescribing to the conquered. We speak as fellow citizens to heal the wounds of the past with the intent of constructing a new order based on justice for all. This is the challenge that faces all South Africans today, and it is one to which I am certain we will all rise.

The qualities of a great man are vision, integrity, courage, understanding, the power of articulation, and profundity of character.

All the historic precedents, the soaring graphs, the staggering statistics - these measure size more than substance. And the largeness and greatness of our nation would be almost a mockery - without a matching greatness of heart and largeness of vision as we look out upon the world.

Leadership is not only having a vision, but also having the courage, the discipline, and the resources to get you there.

History has proven that those who dare to imagine the impossible are the ones who break all human limitations.
