No matter how talented you are, not everyone is going to like you, but that's life. Stay strong.

My mother always told me that any talent is a gift of God and I always believed it. If I quit, I would just live in front of the television and get fat and die pretty soon.

I've leaned on God for so long. "Hey, God, you just gave me this gift, and I'm just going to go out there and sing." But I'm realizing how much larger and how expansive my gift becomes when I actually pay attention to it and try to practice and try to perfect it.

At some point, if you're lucky, you realize you're not the story. You're part of the story. The story is much bigger than you.

Find out what your gift is and nurture it.
