Being an entrepreneur isn't really about starting a business. It's a way of looking at the world: seeing opportunity where others see obstacles, taking risks when others take refuge.

AI is real and will change every industry. We are living in a golden age, and there is reason to be optimistic. There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur and start a start-up.

For the first time we're allowing developers who don't work at Facebook to develop applications just as if they were. That's a big deal because it means that all developers have a new way of doing business if they choose to take advantage of it. There are whole companies that are forming whose only product is a Facebook Platform application.

I experienced, along with the rest of the team, what it was like to go from being a Cinderella story with a great entrepreneur in Sam Walton to being large and disliked just because you're large, and all of the negatives that went with it. So I personally don't use the word "scale" very much because when I hear that word I think of pain.

I just think people have a lot of fiction [in the movie]. But, you know, I mean, the real story of Facebook is just that we've worked so hard for all this time. I mean, the real story is actually probably pretty boring, right? I mean, we just sat at our computers for six years and coded.

When you're in a startup, the first ten people will determine whether the company succeeds or not.
