Much indeed to be regretted, party disputes are now carried to such a length, and truth is so enveloped in mist and false representation, that it is extremely difficult to know through what channel to seek it. This difficulty to one, who is of no party, and whose sole wish is to pursue with undeviating steps a path which would lead this country to respectability, wealth, and happiness, is exceedingly to be lamented. But such, for wise purposes, it is presumed, is the turbulence of human passions in party disputes, when victory more than truth is the palm contended for.

The challenge today is to convince people of the value of truth, honesty, compassion and a concern for others.

Public opinion is a mysterious and invisible power, to which everything must yield. There is nothing more fickle, more vague, or more powerful; yet capricious as it is, it is nevertheless much more often true, reasonable, and just, than we imagine.

Be honest, truthful, and altruistic. If you concern yourself with taking care of others, there'll be no room for lies, bullying, and cheating. If you're truthful you can live transparently, which will enable you to establish trust, the basis for making friends.

If what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all.

If you want to be wrong then follow the masses.
