There are two systems, the past and the future. The present is only a painful transition. Which must triumph? The future, will it not? Yes indeed, the future! That is, intelligence, industry, and peace. The past was brute force, privilege, and ignorance. Each of our victories was a triumph for the ideas of the Revolution. Victories will be won, one of these days, without cannon, and without bayonets.

When I was working on Android, I felt guilty. It wasn't what we were working on, it was a start-up, and I felt guilty. That was stupid! It was the future.

What was the future? The future was a solid wall, not promising, not threatening-all bunk. No guarantees of anything, not even the guarantee that life isn't one big joke.

I can get away with saying a lot of ideas that are young and naive. I'm liberated.

I just sort of kept having ideas. We had a lot of magazines lying around our house. It was kind of messy. So you kind of read stuff all the time, and I would read Popular Science and things like that. I just got interested in stuff, I guess, technology and how devices work.

Teachers need our active support and encouragement. They are doing one of the most necessary and exacting jobs in the land. They are developing our most precious national resource: our children, our future citizens.
