We have allowed our civilization to outrun our culture; we have allowed our technology to outdistance our theology and for this reason we find ourselves caught up with many problems.

For never in Christian history, within a Christian country, have Christian churches been on the receiving end of such naked brutality and violence as we are witnessing here in America today. Not since the days of the Christians in the catacombs has God's house, as a symbol, weathered such attack as the Negro churches.

The real tragedy, though, is not Martin Luther King's disillusionment with the church -- for I am sustained by its spiritual blessings as a minister of the gospel with a lifelong commitment: The tragedy is that in my travels, I meet young people of all races whose disenchantment with the church has soured into outright disgust.

The world used to think we are a land of snake charmers and black magic. But our youth has surprised the world with its IT [information technology] skills.

Keeping technology at the forefront, we need to further speed up our defence programme & keep pace with the world.

The pace at which people are taking to digital technology defies our stereotypes of age, education, language and income.
