I'm so proud of that team, and I know for a fact when I'm eighty or, let's say-I always project myself forward to age eighty, but as I get older, I'm starting to do ninety-so I know that when I'm ninety, it's going to be one of the things I'm most proud of, that I took on the Washington Post and helped it through a very rough transition.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm doing it out of pride. It's something to be proud of: that I'm actually in with all the 'Biggies' - all the biggest stars - and that I can do something worthwhile. Yes, I'm proud more than anything.

At Facebook, we build tools to help people connect with the people they want and share what they want, and by doing this we are extending people's capacity to build and maintain relationships.

Every generation has its defining works. More than 300,000 people worked to put a man on the moon - including that janitor. Millions of volunteers immunized children around the world against polio. Millions of more people built the Hoover dam and other great projects. These projects didn't just provide purpose for the people doing those jobs, they gave our whole country a sense of pride that we could do great things.

I think that more flow of information, the ability to stay connected to more people makes people more effective as people. And I mean, that's true socially. It makes you have more fun, right. It feels better to be more connected to all these people. You have a richer life.

The success of Facebook is because we empowered people. We gave people a way to share their opinion online that a lot of people didn't have before, and to connect with people that they didn't have before and that is why we have been so successful.
