The most spiritual men, as the strongest, find their happiness where others would find their destruction: in the labyrinth, in hardness against themselves and others, in experiments. Their joy is self-conquest: asceticism becomes in them nature, need, and instinct. Difficult tasks are a privilege to them; to play with burdens that crush others, a recreation. Knowledge - a form of asceticism. They are the most venerable kind of man: that does not preclude their being the most cheerful and the kindliest.

Grace is not part of consciousness; it is the amount of light in our souls, not knowledge nor reason.

God has no religion.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

It is more correct to say that Truth is God, than to say that God is Truth.

Spiritual relationship is far more precious than physical. Physical relationship divorced from spiritual is body without soul.
