You will be wounded many times in your life. You'll make mistakes. Some people will call them failures but I have learned that failure is really God's way of saying, "Excuse me, you're moving in the wrong direction." It's just an experience, just an experience.

I get a lot of credit for comb-overs. But it's not really a comb-over. It's sort of a little bit forward and back. I've combed it [hair] the same way for years. Same thing, every time.

My style icons were Gwen Stefani, when she was in No Doubt, and then Shirley Manson in Garbage.

Around 1988 I started to 'dread' my hair; because it's curly, it would go into dreads naturally if I stopped combing it. But the dreads went down only one side, so I had to have extensions put in.

But on this record, I said, 'Instead of a magnum opus, what about more like a polaroid?

I love Vetements, but I tend not to wear on stage 'cause the sleeves are too long and I can't play the guitar.
