The desire to create continually is vulgar and betrays jealousy, envy, ambition. If one is something one really does not need to make anything - and one nonetheless does very much. There exists above the productive man a yet higher species.

Envy and jealousy are the private parts of the human soul. Perhaps the comparison can be extended.

One of the problems when you become successful is that jealousy and envy inevitably follow. There are people-I categorize them as life's losers-who get their sense of accomplishment and achievement from trying to stop others. As far as I'm concerned, if they had any real ability they wouldn't be fighting me, they'd be doing something constructive themselves.

Suspicion and jealousy never did help any man in any situation.
