I have tried to find a phrase in which to define what the Republican Party has done at home. I have said we were "progressive moderates." Right at the moment I rather favor the term "dynamic conservatism."

In attempting to summarize the philosophy of the Republican Party I, myself, have sometimes used such phrases as moderate progressive and dynamic conservative, because we want to be known for what we are, the party of progress. And if we are the party of progress, we must be the party of peace and prosperity, because this is implicit in the term "progress."

I suppose I'm a traditional progressive who is suspicious of woke-ism as a viable worldview or device to make things better. But I don't want to be associated with any side because then I can't make jokes about them. I just wanna make jokes.

We are many things. We are liberal - for we do believe that, in judging his own daily welfare, each citizen, however humble, has greater wisdom than any government, however great.

I despise people who go to the gutter on either the right or the left and hurl rocks at those in the center.

We face a hostile ideology; global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose and insidious in method. Unhappily the danger it poses promises to be of indefinite duration.
