To understand one another, and to grow in charity and truth, we need to pause, to accept and listen to one another. In this way we already begin to experience unity. Unity grows along the way, it never stands still. Unity happens when we walk together.

Often it is better simply to slow down, to put aside our eagerness in order to see and listen to others, to stop rushing from one thing to another and to remain with someone who has faltered along the way.

Never underestimate the power of kindness, empathy, and compassion in your interactions with others.

The fundamental weakness of western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit.

There are any number of reasons to find fault with each other, with our Governments, and with other countries. But let us not take ourselves too seriously. None of us has a monopoly of wisdom and we must always be ready to listen and respect other points of view.
