I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience, I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being.

The fundamental desire of life is the desire to exist.

There are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire. The other is to gain it.

A life not lived for others is not a life.

Life has meaning only in the struggle. Triumph or defeat is in the hands of the Gods. So let us celebrate the struggle!

And there is deep down within all of us an instinct. It's a kind of drum major instinct - a desire to be out front, a desire to lead the parade, a desire to be first. And it is something that runs the whole gamut of life.
