Just in terms of allocation of time resources, religion is not very efficient. There's a lot more I could be doing on a Sunday morning

I agree with people like Richard Dawkins that mankind felt the need for creation myths. Before we really began to understand disease and the weather and things like that, we sought false explanations for them. Now science has filled in some of the realm - not all - that religion used to fill.

A society without religion is like a vessel without compass.

We must be Bright and Cheerful, long faces do not make Religion.

Religion is indeed a kind of vaccine innoculation, which, by satisfying our natural love for the marvellous, keeps us out of the hands of charlatans and conjurors. The priests are better than the Cagliostros, the Kants, and all the visionaries of Germany.

So far as the religion of the day is concerned, it is a damned fake.. Religion is all bunk.
