Let us travel it together. Let us, by our joint actions, vindicate the purposes for which this Organization was established and create a situation wherein its Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will become part of the body of law on which will be based the political and social order of a new South Africa. Our common victory is assured.

No compromise with the main purpose; no peace till victory; no pact with unrepentant wrong.

The problems of victory are more agreeable than those of defeat, but they are no less difficult.

Victory was to be bought so dear as to be almost indistinguishable from defeat.

Victory is the beautiful, bright-colored flower. Transport is the stem without which it could never have blossomed.

We must be very careful not to assign this deliverance the attributes of a victory.
