I'm calling for dialogue. I'm gathering attention for dialogue which is what you do in a struggle for power.

I only wish that ordinary people had an unlimited capacity for doing harm; then they might have an unlimited power for doing good.

Somehow we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race which no one can win to a positive contest to harness man's creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all of the nations of the world.

To me, power is making things happen without asking for permission. It's affecting the way people perceive themselves and the world around them. It's making people stand up with pride.

There's all these people who are incredibly vulnerable and would honestly do anything you say. That's a crazy feeling. Nobody should be given the power that we're [celebs] given.

Today's ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you, the people. For too long, a small group in our Nation's Capital has reaped the rewards of Government while the people have borne the cost.
