It is never my custom to use words lightly. If twenty-seven years in prison have done anything to us, it was to use the silence of solitude to make us understand how precious words are and how real speech is in its impact on the way people live and die.

Never rush an emotion; everything in life has a rhythm, it is the pauses and silences that speak the truth.

I believe in the discipline of silence, and could talk for hours about it.

Some people can't stand being alone. I love solitude and silence. But when I come out of it, I'm a regular talking machine. It's all or nothing for me.
