You are like a hurricane, there's calm in your eyes, and I'm getting blown away.

I think all my songs are under the label emotion​. The more I open up, the more I get hurt, so basically what happens is I'm just riddled with scars.

The emotions in a song - the anger, aggression - have got to be legitimate.

Why should I hold back now and sound mediocre, just so I can sound mediocre twenty years from now?

From a broken relationship I was in. I could not understand what went wrong and I had to explain to myself, and I did it through this song. The next day I thought, Jesus, that's beautiful. I didn't recognize it at the time, it was just pouring out of me.

Soon as I could play one guitar chord and laid my ear upon that wood, I was gone. My soul was sold. Music was everything from then on.
