It's no longer a fad to be down for the young Black male. Everybody wants to go past. Like the gangster stuff, it just got exploited.

When the charge first came up, I hated black women. Then, going to trial, I started seeing the black women that was helping me. It's mostly black female guards. They treat me with human respect.

I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures. It's so awkward. It looks so cheesy.

Music is the love of my life. It's a total escape from reality. Music transports you to another place, someplace unexpected and meaningful.

The biggest moments of insecurity come when all self-confidence is lost and you feel like people are watching and judging. It should be the opposite. You should feel like the people who are watching care about you. This is something we can try to give each other - the feeling that eyes signal support, not disdain.
