Because parents have power over children. They feel they have to do what their parents say, but the love of money is the root of all evil, and this is a sweet child. And to see him turn like this, this isn't him. This is not him.

I love conversations with kids in the meet and greet lines - little people with little voices! I love babies. Someday I would love to be a parent, but I want that time to come when I've experienced so much of the world. My life will be devoted to making that child's life as wonderful, beautiful, magical and perfect as it can possibly be. I want to wait until there is no ounce of me left that has anything self-centered to experience.

The worst thing you can do to a child, and I've seen it happen so many times, is the silver spoon.

One circumstance that helped our character development: we were needed. I often think today of what an impact could be made if children believed they were contributing to a family's essential survival and happiness.

I won't do anything to take care of them. I'll supply funds and she'll take care of the kids. It's not like I'm gonna be walking the kids down Central Park.
