Love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the heartbeat of the moral cosmos. He who loves is a participant in the being of God.

I think I have discovered the highest good. It is love.

It is an overflowing love, which seeks nothing in return. Theologians would say that it is the love of God operating in the human heart. And when one rises to love on this level, he is able to love the person who does the evil deed, while hating the deed that the person does.

Nonviolence is absolute commitment to the way of love. Love is not emotional bash; it is not empty sentimentalism. It is the active outpouring of one's whole being into the being of another.

We love our enemies by realizing that they are not totally bad and that they are not beyond the reach of God's redemptive love.

Only by following this way and responding with this type of love are we able to be children of our father which is in heaven.
