I don't think I've ever been an agnostic. I've always thought there's a superior power, that this is not the real world and that there's a world to come.

That there is much suffering in the world no one disputes. Which is more likely, that pain and evil are the result of an all-powerful and good God, or the product of uncaring natural forces? The presence of much suffering agrees well with the view that all organic beings have been developed through variation and natural selection.

God has created us to love and to be loved, and this is the beginning of prayer-to know that He loves me, that I have been created for greater things.

Thank God for giving you this world as a moral gymnasium to help your development, but never imagine you can help the world.

That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God.

May God break my heart so completely that the whole world falls in.
