I love country music, but I find it very hard to take it seriously. I also think a lot of country music is sung with the tongue in cheek, so I do it tongue in cheek.

I love songs about horses, railroads, land, Judgment Day, family, hard times, whiskey, courtship, marriage, adultery, separation, murder, war, prison, rambling, damnation, home, salvation, death, pride, humor, piety, rebellion, patriotism, larceny, determination, tragedy, rowdiness, heartbreak and love. And Mother. And God.

Life and love go on, let the music play.

The only thing that can kill me is death, that's the only thing that can ever stop me, is death, and even then my music will live forever.

There's a new hit rock group or singer every five minutes, but with country music, you have one hit and those people love you forever.

Some will hate you pretend they love you now then behind they try to eliminate you.
