I've leaned on God for so long. "Hey, God, you just gave me this gift, and I'm just going to go out there and sing." But I'm realizing how much larger and how expansive my gift becomes when I actually pay attention to it and try to practice and try to perfect it.

It is my absolute belief that Indians have unlimited talent. I have no doubt about our capabilities.

Cleverness is a gift; kindness is a choice. Gifts are easy-they're given, after all. Choices can be hard. You can seduce yourself with yourgifts if you're not careful, and if you do, it'll probably be to the detriment of your choices.

Find out what your gift is and nurture it.

Some people are just born stars - you either have it or you haven't, and I was definitely born one.

In the end, the most important thing is to be true to yourself and those you love and work hard. I mean, work like there's no tomorrow. Train. Strive. I mean, really train and cultivate your talent to the highest degree. Be the best at what you do. Get to know more about your field than anybody alive. Use the tools of your trade, if it's books or a floor to dance on or a body of water to swim in. Whatever it is, it's yours.
