Congratulations on being named Time magazine's 'Man of the Year' - you definitely deserve it. As you have probably heard, I'm a big fan of yours!

I always knew Gordon Lightfoot was a really great songwriter, but his stuff even sounds better and better all the time. It's just so really good to me. It's just like that's what should be in a dictionary, you know, next to a really good contempory folk song, is a Gordon Lightfoot song.

My fans are the best. I mean if there was a war, I think they'd definitely win just because they'd kill them with kindness.

Although they can do it all the time, you know, they're far better than me, on a musically, on a theoretical music level. You know, they're out of my league.

I like rock and roll, man, I don't like much else.

When I left Flyleaf I really wanted to stay connected with the fans and so I continued to answer emails and tried to write some blogs and stay connected that way and my husband could tell that I was just super heavy about the fans and just being able to reach out to them so he suggested that I write a book.
