We cannot hope to die peacefully if our lives have been full of violence, or if our minds have mostly been agitated by emotions like anger, attachment, or fear. So if we wish to die well, we must learn how to live well: Hoping for a peaceful death, we must cultivate peace in our mind, and in our way of life.

Let us sing as we go. May our struggles and our concern for this planet never take away the joy of our hope.

Life is a flame that is always burning itself out; but it catches fire again every time a child is born. Life is greater than death, and hope than despair.

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one.

Life could be limitless joy, if we would only take it for what it is, in the way it is given to us.
