It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change, that lives within the means available and works cooperatively against common threats.

Hence it is quite credible that the presence of a feline animal in large numbers in a district might determine, through the intervention first of mice and then of bees, the frequency of certain flowers in that district!

How have all those exquisite adaptations of one part of the organisation to another part, and to the conditions of life, and of one organic being to another being, been perfected?

Species that struggle to adapt to survive will become extinct.

In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.

The most important factor in survival is neither intelligence nor strength but adaptability.
