How easy it is to make people believe a lie, and [how] hard it is to undo that work again!

Among other common lies, we have the silent lie - the deception which one conveys by simply keeping still and concealing the truth. Many obstinate truth-mongers indulge in this dissipation, imagining that if they speak no lie, they lie not at all.

Reality is easy. It's deception that's the hard work.

A friend once said, and I found to be true, that everyday people, they lie to God too, so what makes you think, that they won't lie to you.

Never make friends with people who are above or below you in status. Such friendships will never give you any happiness.

Let him not deceive another nor despise anyone anywhere. In anger or ill will let him not wish another ill.
