It is never my custom to use words lightly. If twenty-seven years in prison have done anything to us, it was to use the silence of solitude to make us understand how precious words are and how real speech is in its impact on the way people live and die.

Silence is a profound melody, for those who can hear it above all the noise.

Debates conceal rather than reveal the truth. Truth is revealed in solitude.

The truth hurts, but silence kills.

Silence becomes cowardice when occasion demands speaking out the whole truth and acting accordingly.

Speak only if it improves upon the silence.
