Like my friend Warren Buffett, I feel particularly lucky to do something every day that I love to do. He calls it 'tap-dancing to work.

I never took a day off in my twenties. Not one. And I'm still fanatical, but now I'm a little less fanatical.

It is no use doing what you like; you have got to like what you do.

Whatever shall we do in that remote spot? Well, we will write our memoirs. Work is the scythe of time.

I am not willing that the vitality of our people be further sapped by the giving of cash, of market baskets, of a few hours of weekly work cutting grass, raking leaves or picking up papers in the public parks. We must preserve not only the bodies of the unemployed from destitution but also their self-respect, their self-reliance and courage and determination.

Work must be found for able-bodied but destitute workers. The Federal Government must and shall quit this business of relief.
