In great contests, each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong.

God cannot at the same time impose his will upon his children and also maintain his purpose for man.

The decision we must make now is whether we will give our allegiance to outmoded and unjust customs or to the ethical demands of the universe. As Christians we owe our allegiance to God and His will, rather than to man and his folkways.

God gave man a mouth to receive bread, hands to feed it, and his hand has a right to carry bread to his mouth without controversy.

It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself, and claims kindred to the great God who made him.

This is my belief: that through difficulties and problems God gives us the opportunity to grow. So when your hopes and dreams and goals are dashed, search among the wreckage, you may find a golden opportunity hidden in the ruins.
